Engage – Empower – Inspire – Energise

is the outcome of the concept developed by threeinitial founders. We wanted to establish a mechanism which would collaboratively market food experiences across the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla Council areas. Through this, year-round tourism could be promoted and the viability of primary producers and food related businesses increased.

Viktoria was aware of our plans and our need to find funding to initiate some initial activities. She alerted us to a grant that would support the establishment of the GCT Association and fund initial marketing activities. Viktoria provided advice on development of the application and comment on early drafts. Our application was successful, enabling establishment of the Association and the launch of the GCT with over 50 members. Without her support this would not have been possible. Since then, Viktoria has alerted us to other grants that may be suitable. We successfully applied for one of these (BLERF) which we are using to develop the GCT in such a way that it will be independently sustainable.

During development of the GCT, Viktoria delivered services for a key component – our Public Relations and Marketing Strategy. As part of this, she enhanced the founders understanding of the complex systems operating in tourism marketing and sales chains, commissions and connections. This helped our understanding in development of the Strategy.

The Strategy has guided our promotional activities to date, in particular promoting the food trail to: potential member businesses and the website to its target markets. We are yet to implement elements of the Strategy relating to partnering with DMOs and tour operation wholesalers. In developing this strategy, Viktoria demonstrated a clear understanding of our target market and the ability to define this clearly. The strategy developed was clear, userfriendly and captured our intent.

In addition, Viktoria provided advice on the functionality requirements of our website as it was being developed. This advice was based on best and anticipated postCOVID practice and informed our thinking on taking direct bookings, integration with social media, integration of API keys for third party sales channels and login integration for Domestic and International Travel Agents.

Viktoria assisted us with copywriting by developing several examples of text to describe members on our website. These became the basis of our exemplars. Viktoria’s support culminated in delivery of a webinar and question and answer session to GCT members that detailed: our brand strategy, how to meet the
experiential expectations of gourmet travelers and how each business could leverage the GCT brand in their own marketing.

During the period we established the Association, we worked with a number of different service providers. Viktoria was by far the easiest to work with; all deliverables were provided on or before the due date and she consistently delivered a quality product that met our needs and exceeded our expectations.
